As we celebrate the launch of TidalHealth Atlantic, we’re highlighting the team members who make our mission possible every day. Their stories are shaping this new chapter in TidalHealth’s history and helping drive positive change in the communities we serve.
Today, we recognize Ashley Coury, surgical scheduler at TidalHealth Pulmonary & Critical Care. She was nominated by Kayla Fontaine for her persistence, her ability to keep the team motivated, her willingness to provide coverage when needed, and her positive impact on patients’ lives.
In her role as a scheduler, Coury coordinates new patient consultations for general and interventional pulmonology and scheduling procedures for Dr. Yashvir Sangwan, Dr. Pardeep Masuta, and Olivia Dorman, CRNP.
Coury says she believes in leading by example. She is often the first person a patient speaks with, which she views as an important responsibility. She aims to create a positive, supportive interaction that helps set the tone for the patient’s experience throughout their care.
She is also enrolled in an accelerated certified clinical medical assistant program as she prepares to transition into the clinical side of the medical field. Her long‑term goal is to apply to TidalHealth’s surgical technology program and become a surgical technologist.
Coury says it is difficult to identify a single moment in which she made the greatest impact, because many interactions stand out. She often works with interventional pulmonology patients who are anxious about upcoming procedures and does her best to answer questions, explain next steps, and ease their concerns. Sometimes, she says, patients simply need a calm, reassuring voice. She always reminds them that they are in excellent hands and supported by a highly skilled team.
Coury’s dedication to patients and her commitment to growth reflect the values at the heart of TidalHealth. Whether she is coordinating complex schedules or offering reassurance to patients, she supports the delivery of compassionate, high‑quality care. As we move forward in this new chapter, team members like Coury continue to strengthen our mission and inspire others through their drive, professionalism and genuine care for the patients we serve.
