
Overview
Student loan debt is a massive problem for many students. TidalHealth understands the challenges. What you may not know is that TidalHealth provides support in many flexible ways!
TidalHealth has several ways to provide support to you as a new or current student or if you have graduated recently (within the last 6 months).
Current team members
If you’re a current team member, financial support is available:
- Up to $6,000 per year for a commitment of working for TidalHealth for a year in return payback in time.
- Up to $12,000 for a two-year TidalHealth career commitment.
- The funding can cover your tuition, books and fees.
- TidalHealth may provide students in eligible programs with up to $500 in living stipend monthly based on need. Living stipends are taxable.
- The team member must be in a minimum standby status and must have satisfactorily completed the four month introductory period to be eligible for this program.
Non-employed students
- Must commit to employment in a standby status working at least 24 hours per month.
- Health benefits are available for eligible individuals working at least a .48 FTE.
- TidalHealth may provide students in eligible programs with up to $500 in living stipend monthly based on need. Living stipends are taxable.
- In addition to the living stipend opportunity, scholarships are also available in the same amounts:
o Up to $6,000 per year for a commitment of working for TidalHealth for a year.
o Up to $12,000 for a two-year TidalHealth career commitment. - The scholarship can help cover tuition, books and fees.
Recent graduates
If you’re a recent graduate (within the last 6 months), loan repayment is available:
- Up to $6,000 per year for a commitment of working for TidalHealth for a year in return payback in time.
- Up to $12,000 for a two-year career commitment.

Graduating high school students
TidalHealth Nanticoke offers several scholarships for graduating high school students who live in Western Sussex County and pursue careers in healthcare. Each scholarship has a unique focus: Diversity in Healthcare, Jill Hickman Nursing Scholarship, and Healthcare Careers. Students may apply for multiple scholarships.
- Diversity in Healthcare Scholarship – The TidalHealth Diversity Scholarship focuses on broadening the number of professional in healthcare from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds in Western Sussex County. The program is for Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino and/or Native American students.
- Jill Hickman Nursing Scholarship – The Jill Hickman Nursing Scholarship is for graduating high school students who pursue careers in nursing.
- Healthcare Education Scholarship – The TidalHealth Healthcare Education Scholarship is for those pursuing any healthcare career such as Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Medicine, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Lab Scientist, to name a few.
All applications must be received by April 17, 2023.
