On Thursday, Oct. 19, the Griffin Higgins Team at Keller Williams Realty visited the TidalHealth Foundation team at its Seaford, Del. office to deliver $820 worth of toys for Brooke's Toy Closet at TidalHealth Nanticoke.
The Griffin Higgins Team is committed to giving back to the communities they serve. The team nominates and votes for local charities to donate to each month. Each of the 45 agents on the team generously donates $10 from each settlement they have, which the Griffin Higgins Team matches at the end of the month. Griffin Higgins Team member Amy Callaway nominated Brooke's Toy Closet, which was the winning charity for August 2023.
Brooke’s Toy Closet is a program at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional and TidalHealth Nanticoke that provides new toys to children in the Emergency Department and Pediatric Units that the children get to keep and take home upon discharge.
The program was named in honor of Brooke Mulford, a young girl who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of cancer, in 2009 at the tender age of 4 years old. After a valiant battle, she passed away in June 2017. Brooke had a vision to give toys to kids in the hospital to make their time there a little easier, and that vision is what sparked the creation of Brooke's Toy Closet.
