TidalHealth is pleased to announce a partnership with Ninth Street Development Co. (“9SDC”) and will be one of the anchor tenants at the Nylon Capital Center.
9SDC will be constructing a new, state-of-the-art +/-22,000 sq. ft. healthcare facility for TidalHealth in the heart of the campus overlooking the shared campus green and pickleball courts. The 22-acre redevelopment of the former Nylon Capital Shopping Center aims to create a diverse mix of education, healthcare, coworking, and retail spaces for the Seaford community and greater Sussex County area.
TidalHealth joins other prominent anchor tenants coming to the site including Delaware Technical Community College, The Mill, and BrightBloom Centers. Set to break ground in March, the $60 MM development includes both new construction and intensive adaptive reuse. Sitework to all four streets surrounding the campus is also included as part of the development.
“TidalHealth has a more than 70-year healthcare commitment to this community, and we remember the Nylon Capital Shopping Center at its grandest. We’re excited to be the healthcare partner in the continued rebirth and economic transformation of this once thriving space. Getting well and staying well are essential components of everyone’s life, and it’s so important for the TidalHealth family to have that presence, working alongside our clinical and educational partners to reimagine this shopping complex as a state-of-the-art, revolutionary innovation center. We continue to work with our clinical, executive and board leaderships in the health system to determine what is the best fit for the space and of the most benefit to our community, and we will be making our decision soon on the clinical services to be based there.” – Penny Short, MSM, BSN, RN and President, TidalHealth Nanticoke
“We are super excited to see TidalHealth part of the renovation of the Nylon Capital Shopping Center. Seaford is blessed to have such a caring healthcare provider right here and this shows their long-term commitment to Seaford and all of Western Sussex.” – David Genshaw, Mayor of Seaford

Having them be part of 9SDC’s project is just further proof of their commitment and dedication to caring for our residents and neighboring communities. We couldn’t be more excited.”– Trisha Newcomer, Director of Economic Development for the City of Seaford
