TidalHealth is pleased to announce that Sameer Shaik-Abdul, MD, FACP, and Shahabuddin Soherwardi, MD, FACP, have been elected Fellows of the American College of Physicians (ACP). The distinction recognizes achievements in internal medicine, the specialty of adult medical care. Dr. Shaik-Abdul and Dr. Soherwardi are faculty with our Internal Medicine Residency Program and were the only newly elected ACP Fellows from Maryland at the National ACP Internal Medicine Conference in San Diego this past week.
ACP Fellows are a distinguished group of physicians who are dedicated to continuing education in medical practice, teaching and/or research. Fellowship is an honorary designation, given to recognize ongoing individual service and contributions to the practice of medicine.
To be elected a Fellow, physicians must show that they are always growing and learning. This can be demonstrated through activities such as teaching, hospital appointments, public service, continuing medical education, publishing scientific articles and advanced training. Dr. Shaik-Abdul and Dr. Soherwardi were elected upon the recommendation of peers and the review of ACP’s Credentials Subcommittee.
Congratulations, Dr. Shaik-Abdul and Dr. Soherwardi, on this outstanding accomplishment!
