The TidalHealth Foundation recently received a generous donation of $65,000 from the Wilde Charitable Foundation as a contribution to the Graduate Medical Education (GME) campaign to be used in support of TidalHealth’s new Edward Q. Wilgus Community Clinic, which is under construction on East Church St. on Salisbury’s east side.
The donation will fund four provider offices and a staff breakroom in the new clinic, which will also serve as home base for TidalHealth’s internal medicine resident physicians participating in the health system’s GME program.
The Wilgus Clinic is expected to accommodate between 12,000 to 15,000 visits annually and will feature services including adult healthcare, telehealth, behavioral health, lab draws and preventative screening opportunities.
The Wilde Charitable Foundation was founded by Hugh F. Wilde, Sr. to support organizations that greatly impact the communities they serve. “We see a great value in TidalHealth serving the surrounding communities. It is imperative to support TidalHealth's growth, expansion, and education to ensure its longevity and ability to continue to serve as a pivotal pillar in the community,” said Ryan Wilde. “Supporting GME and the new Wilgus Clinic helps to promote bringing new talent and cutting-edge educational opportunities to the area.”
The SPARK fundraising campaign to benefit GME is currently underway through the TidalHealth Foundation with a philanthropic goal of $5 million to support the Edward Q. Wilgus Clinic as well as medical and technology training tools.
Based in an historically underserved area of Salisbury, the goal of the clinic is to eliminate barriers for residents and provide additional opportunities for chronic disease management, financial and nutritional counseling, and other community support group services.
