In the spirit of Thanksgiving, our Healthy Work Culture teams at TidalHealth Nanticoke and TidalHealth Peninsula Regional and the team from Your Doc's In collaborated with the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore (UWLES) and the United Way of Delaware to prepare food baskets for local families in need who may not otherwise have a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
The baskets included non-perishable food items to make a Thanksgiving meal. Altogether, our teams created almost 60 food baskets — 33 in Salisbury, 12 in Seaford and 12 from Your Doc's In (two baskets from each clinic).
Thanks to everyone's support, our TidalHealth Peninsula Regional and Your Doc's In teams had food left over after their baskets were complete. Our Salisbury team donated their leftover food to Hope And Life Outreach (HALO) Ministry to assist with their Thanksgiving meals and Your Doc's In donated their leftover food plus a large box of gloves and socks to the UWLES.
To everyone who donated and to the team members who assembled the baskets, thank you for your generosity and for reminding us what Thanksgiving is all about!
