Hello and thank you for your interest. TidalHealth welcomes motivated individuals interested in the medical field. The experience is intended to give individuals an opportunity to observe how healthcare is delivered in your area of interest. This is an observation only and patient contact is prohibited.
TidalHealth offers observation/shadowing experiences to those who have completed their freshman year in high school and older. Those under the age of 18 must obtain a parent or guardian’s signature on the Observation Only Agreement.
To start the application process, follow the steps below.
Application Steps
Step 1: Start the Application Process
Please complete the Observation Request Form and upload the required documentation.
Step 2: Approval Process
Once we receive your information, it will be reviewed to determine your eligibility; you may be contacted if additional information is needed. Once you have been approved and we are successful in locating a provider in your area of interest, you will be contacted to move forward with Step 3.
Step 3: Observation Agreement and Required Documentation
Please complete the Observation Agreement and send to [email protected].
Once your request has been approved, you will be contacted with clearance to begin your observation/shadowing experience and instructions to pick up your observation badge. You may not start an observation experience without the observation ID.
Step 4: Surgical Orientation (if applicable)
Observation/Shadowing experiences with a surgeon may be approved for a one-day opportunity in the OR for those who are a senior in high school and older. Permission will be needed from Surgical Services and requires the completion of a one hour OR Orientation Class. Once your observation has been approved, please contact Susan Lynch at [email protected] to schedule your OR Orientation for observations taking place at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional or Katie Gordy at [email protected] to schedule your OR Orientation for observations taking place at TidalHealth Nanticoke. Following successful completion of the OR Orientation, Susan or Katie will sign the designated area on the Observation Only Agreement and then the Observation ID can be issued.
